The disinfection gate is a fully automatic device used to decontaminate the protective suits of healthcare workers. With the help of special nozzles, gates of this type disinfect specialized clothing, which minimizes the risk of spreading the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. The gates built by WAAM and Politechnika Śląska will make it possible to reduce the transmission of the virus among medical personnel to an absolute minimum, which usually takes place when removing protective clothing. It is worth noting that the device was in the final of the international competition Healing Solutions for Tourism Challenge. The competition aimed to find the most innovative start-ups and initiatives that contributed to reducing the negative effects of the tourism epidemic. The decontamination gate was rated in the Healing for Prosperity category.
– Corporate social responsibility is very important at the moment. As iCEA Group, we undertake a number of support activities in this difficult time. We decided to donate 10,000 PLN for the #bramydlaszpitali share. We would like such a device to also go to the Infectious Ward of the City Hospital. Józef Struś in Poznań, where medics from our vicinity treat the inhabitants of Wielkopolska. Therefore, they support and promote the entire campaign online, we will emphasize its regional dimension with the slogan #bramadlapoznania – says Jacek Dziura, Marketing Director at iCEA Group.
Currently in Poland we have the highest percentage of medical workers infected with coronavirus in Europe. The originators of the project, with the support of partners, planned the construction of 10 decontamination gates for hospitals. The action is extremely important because almost ⅓ of cases of coronavirus infections are diseases through contact at a clinic or hospital. Thanks to the initiative, we can help those who, risking their own health, fight for others.
We would like to encourage you to support the community fundraising for the construction of gates: https://zrzutka.pl/bramydlaszpitali – every zloty donated brings us closer to our goal. With the described initiative, each donation increases the chances of the necessary personal protection for medics. More information on the involvement of iCEA Group is available at: www.grupa-icea.pl/bramydlaszpitali. Let us support the infectious wards of Polish hospitals, let us be in solidarity with medics and let us engage ourselves in the fight against the pandemic.
In addition, as iCEA Group, we encourage you to join the second action against coronavirus in which the entire team was involved. We joined the Folding@Home project by sharing the computing power of 20 of our computers. It will be used for simulation purposes to help scientists better understand the structures of the virus that causes COVID-19 and could ultimately help to invent a vaccine. Anyone with a computer and access to the Internet can participate in the initiative. More details on joining the project at: https://www.grupa-icea.pl/koronawirus/.
